Heavy bleeding for nearly 5 weeks. What could be wrong?

I've got PCOS and didn't have many periods before having ds 8 mth ago (feb). I had a 'normal' period in June, July and August then in September it started really light for a few days then got really heavy and also lots of clots (sorry tmi) and lasted nearly 5 weeks finishing eventually last thursday. Now just noticed when wiping i'm bleeding again .

Does anyone know what could be wrong and am i been silly to be scared to go to docs?

Have no advice on the cause but you really really should go to the doctors. I know its scarey but stress could be a big reason for it and not knowing the cause will be adding to that. sorry if I sound patronising

Hopefully someone will be along with some idea of possible causes soon x x

Hi PhoenixGhoul, I don't know what is wrong, but I think that you really ought to see your doctor asap - have you recently stopped bfing or something because fluctuating hormones could be the answer (I am in NO WAY qualified to diagnose anything by the way). However, it is possible that you have a prob that needs medical attention, so don't assume anything because what you describe sounds like quite alot of bleeding. Maybe call NHS direct and describe your symptoms... thinking of you!

I know i should i'm thinking i might give it 5-7 days see if this stops because after 4-5 weeks i'd be due on anyway now.

But five weeks is a long time already and if it doesn't stop then you will just keep worrying every day that it continues (or at least I think I would). There may be a really simple explanation that would put your mind at ease.
