poor ds (9 months) now has an ear infection AGAIN. Since beginning of Feb he's had two ear infections, gastro-enteritis, conjunctivitis. Co-incides with starting nursery and everyone says that's what to expect... but he's only been well for a few days at a time. Is this normal?

blooody annoying tho

they grow out of it, ds1 is never ill now

Makes me wonder what the point is though... I'm supposed to be back at work but actually taking loads of time off to look after ds because he's too ill for nursery. What are you supposed to do?

Catch some of it yourself and take sick leave

Well, I seemed to catch all the gastro-bugs he had..nothing worse than throwing up all day whilst trying to look after a baby who is also throwing up.

DS1 was like this. If you are giving antibiotics for the ear infections PLEASE give probiotics as well. It's the one of the things I would do differently if I could relive ds1's babyhood. You can get ones from health food shops that you add to their food/drink.

Jimjams do you think the probiotics in bio yog are enough on daily basis? Or what about Yakult - or do you recommend the supplements as being higher dosage?
