Hi, this is probably a bit OTT, but i have been on Ovranette for 2 months now (having come off femodette because of constant bleeding) and this last week, i am having bad dreams every night which wake me, in the morning i wake with a headache, during the day i feel on the brink of either screaming at people or crying all the time, and my appetite has increased vastly......eating just for the sake of it and not really feeling full.....daft question, but could this due to the pill? Is it even worth me going to the GP, or should i just stop the pill? (i am now on my 7 day break)

In my experience synthetic hormones can make you feel crazy, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if your symptoms could be put down to the pill. Whether a doctor would accept that, I don't know. I had the Mirena coil and had it removed due to psychotic PMT, which has now thankfully gone. It was only upon removal that the doctor admitted that it could cause 'mood swings'. It would be worth trying another brand until you get something that suits. I shall never go back to hormone based contraception but that is my choice!!

thanks bootsmonkey....i did think it was the pill. Problem is, i have been on about 5 different brands, all of which have given me side effects...minipill was crap too. just finished a 7 week period which was caused by changing brands again...which is ironic considering the reason for me being on the pill is to control heavy/painful periods. i am quite overweight too, and the increased appetite is something i could do without. Maybe if i lost weight the periods would improve....?????
