Odd dizzy spells - connected to hypothyroidism ?

I have started getting odd dizzy spells which come and go throughout the day. They are not bad enough to make me feel really ill or want to lie down, but are still a bit of a worry - it is like that feeling you get when you have had just too much alcohol and the room starts to spin - no nausea tho (plus I haven't been drinking !). I am taking thyroxine - has anyone experienced dizzyness as a side effect ?

I've been on thyroxine for 5 years and it's never given me dizzy spells. As far as I know it's not one of the listed side-effects.

It could be something like low blood pressure - would be worth seeing the GP to get it checked out.

Dh visited the gp with the same thing earlier this week. He was told that it was probably a virus causing an inner ear imbalance. The gp had seen several cases recently.

thanks for your replies. I noticed that it wasn't listed as a side effect WWB. Maybe a visit to the quack is in order.

Hi chickeninabox
Could your iron levels be low? Anaemia can make you feel dizzy and faint. Hope you feeling better soon
