Hi

My 10 month old son cut his first tooth last week-end (hurray) and was vomitting absolutely everything that went into his mouth on that day. Since then he has had only runny poos (at least two per day) and has actually lost some weight. Last night he was very iffy and woke up with what I think is a fever 37.7?? Are any of these things normal for a teething baby? Or should I be a better mother, leave work now and take him to hospital??

tummy upsets, hight temps, runny poos and colds are quite normal for teething children

saying that, it does sound a bit extreme from your description

calpol can help with the pain and high temp

is he drinking ok?

do you have a nice HV? you could have a chat with her

Those symptoms aren't caused by teething, it sounds like a tummy bug. Can you take him to the doctors?

My hv is tbh a bit incompetent and I've only seen her once but I got the sense that she wasn't really listening to me. I haven't noticed a decrease in his appetite and he's a very happy little boy otherwise

well

i will say that if it continues and you are worried at all take him to the gp

no-one will be annoyed ever for a mother taking her child to the dr

take a dirty nappy with you and show the dr

hope he feels better soon. he sounds lovely
