I know I need to go the docs but can I present my ailments to the mumsnet surgery in the meantime? I have had stomach ache about 50 per cent of the time for about a month or so. It feels like I've got a bowling ball in there. I've been feeling tired and generally yukky. In addition I feel like I've got permanent pmt. my forehead is all taut and stretched. I'm grumpy all the time and everything dh does annoys me. I wanted to lamp most of the people on the bus today. not at all sure these two things are connected but they're really starting to piss me off. anyone going to offer a mn diagnosis?

something to do with ovaries/womb and other womanly parts and so affecting hormones? That would be my guess.

hairymclary · 09/10/2006 22:37

pregnant?

hatwoman · 09/10/2006 22:39

it might sound a bit thick of me but I really hadn't thought of ilovecaboose's possibility. I guess it makes sense. pg - i blummen well hope not - I've got a mirena - doesn;t feel like being pg at all.

How long have you had the mirena?

motherinferior · 09/10/2006 22:40

I feel I should tell you that a number of people including I think one of the laydeez in MN Towers got up the duff with a Mirena.

GeorginaA · 09/10/2006 22:43

I ask about length of time, because I've had it 2 years now and have had varying degrees of "not quite right" with it pretty much ever since, but haven't really twigged that it was the issue until recently.

Not same symptoms as you, but pretty much body/hormonal gone into a tailspin, gradually getting worse. I think I may be allergic to one of the ingredients in it.

Am waiting for dh to get his snip then I'm having the damn thing out!

hatwoman · 09/10/2006 22:45

as soon as I posted that it doesn;t feel like being pg I realised taht I've never been pg with a coil before. I am pretty certain that it isn;t that but I'm scaring myself now. gp appointment to be booked post haste. mirena's been in for a year. (and I'm due a check - I'm not good at making time for this stuff. )

Georgina - what made you twig? - if you don;t mind me asking.

I went to a homeopath because this year I've had CONSTANT hayfever March - September plus very itchy skin (I had obstetric cholestasis in pregnancy too - so wondered if it was remnants of this).

Soon as I mentioned the Mirena the homeopath said that she'd had so many people in with problems with it. We explored other things as well (it was a pretty thorough 1hr 30mins appt) and while I'm obviously fairly allergicy sensitive to a lot of things, we think that the Mirena has just knocked me completely off balance.

I still also get weird crampy period pains from it, just no bleeding. Feeling bloated - easier to put on weight than before (but that could be an age thing)... lots of little things that sound daft in isolation, but as part of the big picture I don't think it's doing me any good.

Does that make sense?

GeorginaA · 09/10/2006 22:51

Oh, also have been extremely run down over the last two years: had flu, no ends of throat infections, spiralling asthma (which is now under control with stronger meds) etc. My immunity appears rather shot, hence the homeopath visit

ilovecaboose · 09/10/2006 23:00

I didn't think of pregnancy

If you have mirena could it be that affecting you?

If soemthing to do with reproductive organs (in stomach area so could cause that part) it could easily affect your hormones and so cause PMT and headache etc.
