I had my baby a year ago, 2 months after she was born I got this 'theres something up there' feeling in my bum(sorry TMI I know) well this feeling gradually went only to be replace by constant itching round the bum area. It always seems worse when I walk. I've applied loads of cream to the area (anusol) and even tried witch hazel which relieves the itching but just whenI think its gone oh no it comes back with a vengenace. Thing is I'm wondering whether this is piles? I've had a look (sorry!) and it seems like all the skin round the er hem hole is red and inflamed and cant see anything hanging out (which I've heard is a classic pile sympton). Grateful if anyones got any ideas! Of course should go to my gp but am so embarrassed....

could it be worms?

I would go to the GP though. You can get infections of the skin in that area or just nasty inflamed skin that is fairly easily treated with steroid creams.

Don't be embarrassed - they only need a quick look and it may be something that can be so easily treated.

Of course you should go to your GP, you are your own worst enemy here!!.

Please, please please go to the doctors - piles can be internal as well as external and can be very uncomfortable. You do not have to put up with it.

Do not self treat it any longer, seek medical help instead. They've seen it all before and won't be fazed by your problem.
