please book it on Monday morning. I went for mine today. I know everyone's busy with Christmas, the kids, work and all, but it's easy to put off making an appointment and then forgetting.

Mine is walk in so don't need to book, I'm due to have one but I have a dental filling in a couple of weeks in the same building so I'm going to go and have it before that and have a day of things I'd rather not be doing all in one go!

I had mine last week, it literally took a couple of minutes. The new way of doing it is way better than the old scrape. I didn't even feel her doing it.

I too had put it off for nearly a year, letter came through yesterday and all clear.

cecey I had the dentist the same day too Smile

I need to wait until I hear from the hospital, now. Not going anywhere near my GP for fear of committing hari kari.

I went to Waitrose after my appointment and saw the nurse right by the door on the way out. Blush

Having mine Monday at 17.30, getting anxious about it already but too many being affected lately, far too many young ones Hmm

Just It is now on my list and will not be forgotten.

Mine's due in Feb. I hate them, but I will go. My cervix is very high and a bit off centre and it really hurts whilst the nurse jabs around looking for it. Last time, first nurse left the speculum wound open and in place whilst she went to find another nurse to help. Very undignified and I was supressing the urge to throw up.

justmuddlingalong · 28/11/2014 22:22

I hate going too. There has to be no yodelling anywhere near my nether regions. And if the nurse looks like this, then I would definitely rebook the appointment! Grin

As I have said before, I will be very pleased when there is a simple urine test instead of this outdated, sometimes violating, embarrassing and often an inaccurate test.

As a nurse, I would save so much time and the NHS money if instead of trying to persuade women to hop on the couch, I would ask them to pee in a pot instead.

Lookslikeimstuckhere, not the same but I have Valium for dental treatment anxiety. Ask your GP if they could give you a prescription, I take one dose the night before and one on the day of treatment and it does help.

vjg13 · 29/11/2014 07:49

I am just due for one now but can't book it until my period starts to make sure I am mid cycle and have become unpredictable lately.

Lookslikeimstuckhere · 29/11/2014 10:45

vjg13 that's a really good idea. My GP is really good so will try this. Thank you.
