blood in urine after circumcision

My dh was circumcised 2 weeks ago. A couple of days after the surgery, he began passing tiny clots of blood in his urine. This happened about 5 times. It hasn't happened at all for the last 3 days. He went to speak to the gp about it who tested his urine and found blood but no infection. The gp didn't think the blood was related to the circumcision and has referred him back to the hospital. He's been given an appointment so quickly, in just 5 days, and they've outlined all kinds of tests they're going to do, kidney scans etc. We hadn't been too worried about the blood...had just assumed it was related to the op, but now there's all kinds of investigations going on, im frightened. Dh is fine though! Has anyone any experience of this?

Ds had similar but without circumcision, they were very very thorough and we had an urgent scan the next day-which I was sure was because something awful was wrong. But it turned out to be nothing and he was fine. Try not to worry.

Thanks Dame...trying to stay calm. Dh convinced it's to do with the circumcision, says it's too much of a coincidence to be unrelated. I'm a massive panicker, so it's nice to hear your reassuring experience.

Apparently now with boys and men they always take blood in urine seriously-not so much with women but due to men's anatomy it's important to treat quickly. Ds was immediately given antibiotics and the nurse said they do that routinely whereas with a girl/woman they would suggest drinking lots of water etc.

I must admit when the hospital rang us with an appt for first thing the next day I was alarmedGrin
