I had flu getting on for four weeks ago - no official diagnosis but temp/chills/aches and pains/cough/fatigue so pretty sure that's what it was. I thought I'd recovered, apart from the cough, but now my temperature's up again and the cough's got worse. It seems too much of a coincidence that I could have got something else so soon. Do relapses happen with flu? I went back to work after a week, coughing away, would I have been.infectious?

You have probably picked up something else as you are under the weather from the previous infection. If cough getting worse see GP just in case chest infection secondary to the flu.

I've just recovered and I am assuming I've caught something else rather than a relapse.
It doesn't help that I was probably quite run down. Perhaps that's why I got ill so quickly again.
I'm not sure if you'd have been infectious, but you would have been spreading germs. I had to go to work coughing away to. Horrible!

DH had a horrible cold, followed by a chest infection. The doctor gave him antibiotics. Getting better now. Maybe a trip to the GP is in order?

Agree with Musicaltheatremum. When your immune system is low, you are more likely to pick up something else. And if you havent fully recovered from the flu, it can mutate and if your body cant fight it off properly it will come back.

I've been off for two weeks with a cough that won't quit and diagnosed chest and ear infection. I've gone deaf for a week... And had all the aches etc. I think it's just the mild weather making it hard to recover quickly - I've been told it isn't flu but it's as close as makes no difference to me, I have zero energy and as mentioned... Two weeks off work. Ridiculous - never been so long in recovering.

Doc gave me a very strong antibiotic but I'm on day four and I would say only a 20% improvement...

Ummmmm, not sure what that statement above is all about re.the flu vaccination not working. Sorry but that is a complete load of woo nonsense.

I'm in exactly the same position. Been in bed all week, I had a chest infection/flu thing 4 weeks ago. Was better for a week and then it started all over again on Saturday. It's awful
