Scabies - 3 treatments and still not gone!

Hi, my daughter and I were diagnosed with scabies back in August. We've done 3 rounds of Lyclear i.e. six applications and this weekend we think it may be coming back again!! It's very distressing as it really affects her skin and sleep. We are unsure if it's a "reinfestation" or we just aren't clearing it. Which is more likely? These latest symptoms are 10 days after the second round of the third treatment. Has anyone had a similar experience and picked up any wisdom? I have so many unanswered questions about it and I know more than the GPs now which makes it difficult to find answers!

Forgive me, if you have already tried this, but you only mention the skin treatment in your post. With Scabies you have to do more than just treat the skin. You need to wash all clothes, bedding, etc and vacuum your whole home really well. Additionally you should also get the spray for scabies and spray things you cannot really clean well, such as mattresses and any pillows which cannot be washed, crevices in bed frames, baseboards, toys (if your child is younger) etc. Otherwise, you are just causing a never ending cycle. Also during treatment try to avoid really hot showers or the little buggers will be harder to treat since they love to multiply in warm conditions.

I dealt with this nightmare years ago as a teen and it is so horrifying that I still freak out to this day if I begin to have itching without any visible cause. It, took a few treatments with me as well because nobody told my mother and I about cleaning anything else besides applying some cream on my skin.

dont forget shoes, face creams, flannels, put all clothes in seal-able bags and do not wear, tumble dry and wash on hot wash everything possible.

I was wondering if you actually meant to write head lice rather than scabies because Lyclear is usually used for treating head lice. If it is headlice then you are likely not clearing the previous infestation and so it keeps recurring.
