Can anyone help. I know that I have had TMJ since a difficult wisdom tooth extraction couple of years ago. It became alot worse during my last pregnancy but I didn't make a connection. Now I am 16 weeks preg again and I have started to get problems again, tooth ache, jaw and ear ache.
I wondered whether the relaxin hormone in preg ( which has also started to make my hips click) has losened the liagments in my jaw.
Please, does anyone else have experience of this. I can't find any info on the web about pregnancy aggrevated TMJ. Thanks.

Thanks, I also got a book from Amazon called "trigger point therapy" by Clare davis, which has fantasic massages which help to relieve and often completely get rid of the pain.

Tes - definitely aggravated by pregnancy. I had same thing - 20 years ago now. I was very unlucky as my jaw dislocated and i had to have surgery. Have you talked to your dentist? You can wear a mouthguard at night to help to stabilise the joint. Hope you manage to get some relief - it is awful. (The reason mine dislocated so easily was because i had had an injury as a child, which had damaged the joint).

Thanks threelittlefrogs, things are beginning to make sense. I do have a mouth guard, just find it so annoying, guess I'll have to persist.
