Hi!

4 mo ds gets himself to sleep by rubbing his face with his arm. This has caused excema which I've been moisturising. It wasn't too bad but today it has spread and looks like it is about to start weeping.

What can I do to stop him rubbing his face? What should I be putting on it? Please help. TIA!

For the exzema, I used the Aveeno cream if not too bad or some hydorcortisone if it's looking very raw.
I don't think you can stop him rubbing hin face though BUT it might be that he is reacting to the soap/conditioner you use for the clothes.
Just for the info, the 2 main culprits for exczema in babies are milk and dust mites. You might want to investigate that too.
If it has started weeping, go to see your GP. You will need some cream with antibiotics in them to allow healing.

Thank you for your replies. I don't think he has an allergy to milk or dust mites simply because the excema is very specific to where he rubs, and he doesn't have it anywhere else. I am hoping to get to see our GP tomorrow and will check out the creams you both recommend. We use Ecover washing stuff but it is definitely the fabric that is causing the problems one way or another, I have put the poor little mite down with a short-sleeve vest on in teh hope that it's not so bad!
