Poo sample shows imflammation, colonoscopy for chrons any advice on any of this please?

Any advice please? Level was 108 and althought lab cut off is 50 the hospital don't worry unless over 150 so I'm in the middle. Having a colonoscopy to check for chrons. X

I was the same. Mine came back at 152 in the summer. Saw a GI consultant who said nothing of concern and not doing any tests.

I couldn't settle and kept worrying so asked for a second opinion and had a colonoscopy 2 weeks ago. It was completely clear and normal! Was told ibs.

So no idea what was going on!

Long story!
I have Ankylosing spondylitis which is an imflammatory arthritis. I had various issues like upset tummy, tummy ache, change in bowels but it looks like it's the medication I take. What are your symptoms? X

Out of interest, what was the colonoscopy like? X

I had right hand stomach ache, change in bowel habits and look if stools. Stool flat most of the time. Also going between diareah and constipation.

Colonoscopy wasn't bad. I was so worked up about drinking the prep and in the end I found it totally fine. I asked for one called picolax as it's only 2 litres to drink as opposed to the kleenprep.

I then bought m&s sparkling lemon and lime water and mixed the prep with a litre of this instead of just plain tap water. I held my nose as I drank it and then followed it up with chilled fanta ice lemon juice!! Honestly was no bother and I'm terrible for drinking things. I throw up things like lactulose and fibogel.

The colonoscopy for me was a bit harder than most people report. I found it very painful which I totally didn't expect. But the consultant said it was because my bowel was very sensitive with the ibs. The didn't take any biopsies as there was no inflammation.

When I was taken back to the ward other people were coming round from their sedation and couldn't remember a thing so don't let my experience concern you. I've no idea why the sedation didn't work for me. That said to be honest it was over and done with within 15m and and bearable.

He said before the test that he guaranteed me with a calprotectin test result of 150, he wasn't going to find anything other than ibs.
