What are these spots in such an embarrassing place?

I can't be bothered to name change for this......

I have developed clusters of small spots the lips of my vagina. It started with what feels like quite a large flattish spot further away from the lips in amongst the pubic hair. The I noticed a few small ones around the lips on the same side. And today I noticed some on the other side.

They are not painful or oozing. They itch a little but not masses. I am worried. I am married and have not had sex with anyone else for about 20 years and I was my partners first partner and I am fairly sure he is not messing around. But of course I immediately googled genial herpes. It doesn't fit the description at all though thankfully .

Any ideas what it is? What do I do about it?

I would go to the GP surgery and get the doctor to take a proper look at it. Please do not be or at all feel embarrassed to do this, its a body part. No-one will die of embarrassment here and they have seen all this and more before now.

You will not die of embarrassment honestly!!!. They've seen all this all before and will not be shocked themselves.

Get it looked at before you really start to worry yourself into a frenzy about it.

Or if the GP is too embarrassing, and I can fully sympathise there, what about finding your local sexual health/GUM clinic via the Internet and getting them to take a look (which is what I did for something similar sounding).

I had exactly this after the birth of one if my children. At first the GP though it was lichen sclerosis but tests were negative. She then suggested it could be a type of thrush or other fungal infection. I used canesten and it helped but did not clear it. She then gave me dermovate cream which worked a treat but it came back the day before my next period and that seemed to be the pattern of flare up. She then prescribed my betnovate N, the N for nystatin do again another anti fungal. I used this constantly for about a month and it didn't return. GP thought it had been triggered by the hormones of pregnancy.

Interesting thank you. Hormonal could definitely be possible. I am 42 and my hormones recently seem to be all over the place. Still really don't want to go to the gp though!
