Was really pleased I didnt tear during labour, midwife said I just had a graze which would sting when I went to loo but would heal by itself. Sting was an understatement! Anyhow my dd is now 8 wks old and things are still not right down there. Its dificult to describe but here goes...one of the innerlips - instead of being straight edged - is now kind of split in the middle. Theres no soreness and it looks healed - as in its not red or bleeding- but willl it ever join itself back together again? Surely I wont just be left like this forever will I? Otherwise wouldnt they have stitched it? Sorry to be so graphic but would appreciate advise - dh been pestering me but wont let him anywhere near it yet! please save me!

I was told I had a graze with 2nd baby, no stiches and it wasn't a problem for me. What was said at your 6 week check and can you find a friendly female GP to have a look?

Is it the same as on this thread?

I had a small graze - no tear and no stiches. Wad fine though. I would go and get yourself checked out just to put yor mind at rest.

I used pad of witchhazel soaked cotton wool and held it aginst me to prevent sting, helps with healing too. but 8 weeks seems a little long, it is hard to ho heal such a (sorry for this) warm and mosit area esp with the hefty external sanitary protection you have to wear...
I would ask a midwife or HV if they can shed any light on it then ask for GP
Hope it heals soon
xx

Thanks everyone - I didnt mention it at my 6 wk check as I didnt realise it was still in a bad way as it is not uncomfortable at all. I only know its there as I can feel it when I wipe after going to the loo, and I looked in the mirror. Bloody hell - I thought I wouldnt have to get my bits out again till baby number 2 - just my luck!
