does anyone know if chickenpox scars can be removed or if there are any homeopathic treatments available?

How old are they gingerbear? If fairly recent I've heard that pure vitamin E oil on the scars can help them to heal up (best/cheapest way to do this is to buy the capsules that you'd swallow, pierce them with a needle and squeeze the vitamin E onto the area).

If older than that, I'm afraid I don't really know - but I'm sure there'll be a knowledgeable mumsnetter along in a minute!

Georgina, a couple of weeks old. DD has several on her face, and a few on her back. I tried in vain to stop her scratching but even chopping her nails off, she still managed it.

I didn't want to put anything dodgy on her face.

will try the vitamin E - I think this can be used on the face safely can't it?

It's for internal consumption (if you buy the little capsules from a health food store) so it's about as safe as you can get I think Won't harm at all and may well do a lot of good - certainly worth a try!

Ds has also done a good job of scratching his chickenpox - am expecting to use my own advice in the very near future
