I have pain in my foot near the heel. Its a sharp pain that makes it difficult for me to walk on. It gets better with rest, I've just had 2 weeks holiday off work and its been much better. I work in a job where a stand in the same place all day and I've come home tonight in agony.
My whole leg is throbbing and feels heavy, and the pain is shooting up my leg. I have googled foot pain and think I may have this - plantar fascists. Has anyone had this and how did you treat it.

I have had Plantar Fasciitis, and it has got better with:

  • seeing the GP, who referred me to physio
  • physio (which involved lots of stretching the calf muscles- not just one calf muscle - that was important)
  • time off driving (poising my right foot over the accelerator was a major factor in getting PF).
  • rolling a cyclinder (bottle) under my affected foot sole and also massaging it every night
  • increased arch support in shoes

I think time off driving over the summer was the major factor, but I sincerely believe that that wouldn't have done anything without the other factors. Definitely see your GP to get proper advice and support. Don't be ashamed of your own pain. This is the sort of pain which can lead to inactivity, weight gain, and all the other things which come along with that.

Good luck!
