Hi, can anyone help me?! I have a mirena coil, which has not caused me any problems except i recently noticed that as well as the strings, i can feel a small tip of plastic near my cervix. Has it slipped? or have i just not noticed this before!!! Has anyone else had this problem? and has anyone heard of women getting pregnant with a mirena in? (i have 3 lovely children already, and def won't be over the moon about another one just yet!!)

have you got any pain in your pelvic area? my mirena slipped down so the lower part was through my cervix but couldn't be felt by examination (it showed up on an internal ultrasound). I had what felt like incredibly bad period pains which it took 2 weeks of complaining to my doctor to get checked. Definately get it checked by doctor tomorrow. There is a risk of pregnancy if the coil has moved, but it depends on when the coil moved and when you had sex.

Get it checked
I had 2 lovely children, my mirena slipped into the cervix and now I have 3 lovely children. The first I found out that the coil had moved was the positive pregnancy test. I would also advise no sex (or use a condom) until you can get the check!!! Iy is possible to get pregnant if this has happened without ever having a period (happened to me).
Hope this helps!

I've had a mirena fitted for just shy of 5 weeks and its caused me nothing but problems. I had a copper IUD fitted after my first and found it fine, but on this I'm bleeding heavily (they do say you can have 'spotting' but this is ridiculous) and was put on additional hormones to sort it out but 6 days later no let up. Today i felt the threads really low, then felt the mirena coming out of my cervix. I'm taking it as a sign that its just not for me and its time for it to go. Waiting for an appointment to remove it. Will be a blessing anyway as in the 5 weeks I've felt terrible and though we've choosen this option as a contraceptive we haven't been able to have sex due to the heaviness of the bleeding. Mirena be gone and bring back the sex. Just hope there's no babies to follow...

My mirena came out after about 5 months. I had 2 days of contractions whilst my body expelled it.

I am having pains quite excruciating , not all the time as in constant but when they happen I feel physically sick
I have had the mirena in since may 2014 and at first it was quite painful as in labour type pains, for the first 2 weeks then they settled to a day a mth for the next 2-3 mths then everything seemed fine till today, I'm feeling quite ill with it today Confused
Anyone got anything positive for me please or had similar ? What was it
Thanks
