Hi all, had a dental visit yesterday after many years avoiding due to bad bad phobia.Anyway I survived with a wonderful dentist and IV sedation.A complete scaling was carried out and obviously I had lots of numbness.I have severe allergies and latex allergy so I was taken great care of.This morning my left cheek is all swollen up and difficult to keep mouth open, quite painful...Is this part of dental treatment (I know nothing in this line) or should I be contacting him or just give it time to settle.I would hate having to ring him Saturday and sound moany and attention seeking!!!!.I have to be careful with potential allergies. Many thanks in advance, weekends are the worst to feel ill

I don't quite understand your post but this can be a side effect of local anaesthetic. How is it feeling now?

Yes I think you are right. My cheek was very swollen and painful this morning so I am almost sure it is from the local anaesthetic.Am feeling much better tonight.I just slightly panicked earlier this morning as I have to be alert with swellings which can sometimes signal my allergies. All good now :)
