Reassurance or advice needed: a raised mole has appeared on my temple from nowhere in the last few weeks - should I worry?

I am quite mole-y and freckley anyway (dark hair, pale skin but tans easily) and although I don't lie in the sun, I enjoy being outside when the weather is good. I was caught without sun cream on my face a couple of times in the summer, when plans changed or the weather did. This mole is about 3mm in diameter, pale and raised and wasn't there last month. Do I need to go to the doctor?

Yes you do need to go to the dr. It's probably fine but get it checked.

DH had a weird growth come up on his forehead, pale, raised, looked like the rubber on the end of a pencil. GP sent him to skin clinic where it was removed under a local anaesthetic. Turned out to be nothing serious at all. And it was all done very quickly.

Conversely we have a close friend whose DH had a skin growth that he didn't get checked and became huge (think size of a tangerine). When he did go to the dr., it was bad news and entailed massive surgery etc etc.

It doesn't sound very alarming but I would get it checked as better to be safe than sorry.

You know the answer don't you? -Yes you need to go to the doctor. Either you have a problem that needs looking at and sorting out; or the mole is nothing to worry about and you can relax and stop worrying. But you won't know until you speak to the doc.

Go and make an appointment now

Good luck Smile
