Hi all

At 6-7 months pregnant with ds I got lots of horrible clicking from my pelvis and was diagnosed with SPD. I wasn't in a lot of pain so thought it must be a mild case but when I went to get fitted for a support belt the physio said there was quite a big 'gap' and that the ligaments had stretched more than she had originally thought. Had ds in October and feel fine generally BUT when I run I feel discomfort on my pubic bone (sorry not even sure if there is such a thing but you know where I mean!!) and also can't go for long walks without really aching there and around the tops of my legs afterwards. When can I expect this to get better? I really want to get more fit now and am also desparate to start riding horses again...anyone been through this?

Sorry, honey, should have spotted this before. Lots of us have gone through it and I've done a piece on it which I can email to you if you like - may have some useful info. I'm sorry, but it may take some time to recover; osteopathy may help (it's helped me) and/or specialist (but it does need to be specialist) physio. Drop me a line if you need to.

me SW, bloody annoying isn't it! Do the exercises the physio gave you, that certainly strengthened mine after DS2 was born - as soon as he was born, there was this massive improvement almost weekly, and then it stopped improving and I was left with the discomfort you describe. DS2 is just over 5 months now and very long walks still cause the ache, but I mean VERY long walks - the 4, 5 hour excursion type of walks but other than that, I'm fine
