Possible whiplash - do I need to see the doctor?

On Monday evening I was in my dad's car when he stopped suddenly to avoid a motorbike. He wasn't driving very fast at the time as we were about to turn right, but the safety belt went quite hard into my neck and my head must have jolted. Last night the right side of my neck suddenly hurt quite a lot and today it is still painful. I assume it's mild whiplash and have taken ibuprofen. Do I actually need to see a GP, or will she just say "It's mild whiplash. Take ibuprofen."?

I would go and she will examine your neck to make sure it's nut anything more serious
