Dermatographism worse since pregnant

I've always had the condition and the past few years have managed the itching with normal, cheap antihistamines which have worked really well.

Since finding out just over a month ago that I'm pregnant (I'm between 8 and 11 weeks) the itching has gotten progressively worse, it's stopping me from getting to sleep if it starts up, it's making work a little difficult (would you want to buy stuff from someone scratching their legs behind the till?) and is driving me totally crazy!

I saw the GP on Friday and was prescribed some aqueous calamine cream, it's soothing the itching a little but not totally getting rid of it, so the itch/scratch cycle can still carry on. Is there anything else I can ask for if this doesn't help much? It's just making me feel so miserable and the thought of up to another seven months of this makes me wince!

I would go back to your GP. After 12 weeks they may prescribe you something stronger to help
