Agonising periods but not cramps

Recently my periods are agonising. It's not cramps (I get those too) but more like my abdomen is so swollen inside that there isn't room and all my internal organ press together. It's worst on days two and three.

I get a constant pain in the centre of my lower abdomen that is so bad I can't sleep. If I have to pee it takes ages as it feels the tubes are compressed and the pee can't get through. Poos are even worse and the pain as a poo travels down can make me faint.

I've had a scan and there is no endometriosis. Doc just gave me pain killers but they hardly touch the sides.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? Did you find a cure?

Sorry you are in pain. If I were you I would ark to be refered to gynae. I get similar pain and have endo. The only way they can tell if you have got it is by looking by a laparoscopy. Endometriosis doesn't show on any kind of scan.

Treatment if it is that is hormonal, either the coil or the pill.

Hope this helps, and good luck.

Like the previous respondent I would insist to the GP that you are referred to a gynae as this problem should be investigated further by a specialist. Have you not been referred yet?.

Endometriosis is not picked up on scans and your symptoms seem very indicative of this being present. Its usually only diagnosed through a keyhole surgery op called a laparoscopy.

In the meantime I would keep a daily pain and symptom diary as this would also give the gynae clues.
