On the subject of dentists, did any other Scottish MNers know that check-ups (and eye tests) are free now?

I went to the dentist the other day and got ready to pay, as usual, at the end. Apparently since April, check-ups have been free for everyone. That was a pleasant surprise, as I have forked out a fortune in cub/scout/instrument fees this week.

Yep - we've all just had ours the other week. Hygenist appointment was free too for a thorough clean (ouch!), but that's only cos dh is out of work atm
