My ds1 has been diagnosed with reflux by my gp and has been given an array if medication which doesn't seem to be helping. Another mum I know took her baby to a different doctor with same symptoms and was told it wasn't reflux! WHAT exactly is reflux and what kind of symptoms/ behaviour would you expect to see?

my nephew had reflux and it's kind of like indigestion in adults. Babies, can have a immature valve at the top of the stomach which, instead of closing properly after feeds and stopping the milk coming back up again, is less able to do that and the baby is regulary sick and finds it difficult to keep anything down. I think they can give you a different baby formula or medicine, which is thicker and helps it stay down in the tummy. I'm sure there's more to it than this so I'd ask your GP again (or a different one).

Yes, I gave my son thicker milk formula, think it was called Omega Comfort.
