www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/ebola-outbreak-britain-50-chance-4385728

is it really that likely? i dont generally keep up with newspapers and such so i dont know if the mirror is reliable or not

It looks like Excalibur, the dog, will be a casualty

Of the three closely monitored in Spain, the test result in one has been announced - negative. They seem to have identified and quarantined contacts rapidly. That should stamp down on embers.

The news from west Africa continues, however, to be grim.

Might be worth people reassuring their children about this, because even if you think they don't know about it I can pretty much guarantee that older junior school kids and secondary kids are talking about it in the playground and frightening themselves. I've heard some hair raising theories over the past two weeks. Better to arm them with facts to help fight

Good point, DD2 has come home with loads of questions, the new Spanish case had got them all talking at school.

MN still have the old swine flu area in 'health'. Shall I ask them if we can rename it? I think we are going to get a few threads like this and it might be better to coral them into one place, so that people can easily find answers to any questions they may have.

After seeing another thread pop up I've taken the initiative and asked mn to rename swine flu as ebola. here

FallenAngel22 · 08/10/2014 09:56

Good idea. My DD, 9, is starting to ask questions.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 08/10/2014 20:14

We have been kindly given a new ebola topic from mn so that all of the discussions, which have pretty much been sensible can be gathered in one place. Hopefully it wont be needed for too many months. More of an explanation here and mn say that as long as owners of threads are happy they will move threads into the topic.
