Anyone want to diagnose my (slightly) gruesome skin condition (on my finger!)

Had it for weeks. Tried treating with just moisturiser and also with an anti-fungal cream (worth a try). Neither worked, it's a bit like having a permanent burn on the end of my finger Sad. I have it on two other fingers but this is the worst. Any ideas. Can I get something over the counter, seems a bit spurious to request a doctor's appointment for something so tiddly!

Can't diagnose but try showing it to a pharmacist, they might suggest something to treat it, or of not they will suggest a GP

Looks like contact dermatitis to me, I am not medically qualified though.
Have you tried hydrocortisone cream?

ScalySally · 30/09/2014 22:50

Thanks. No I haven't tried hydrocortisone because I've had eczema in the past and this looks differet. I'll try the pharmacist tomorrow, didn't know they could diagnose as such.

Try a moisturiser rich in urea - flexitol or eucerin, for example. It does look like contact dermatitis.

And obviously, make sure you wash your hands thoroughly after using any cleaning agents, including laundry detergent.
