Trying to self-diagnose on the internet but scaring myself silly. Decided to ask on Mumsnet instead!
Had my gall bladder out 7 years ago after the birth of my 2nd child. Never had any problems whatsoever. Last few days, out of the blue, have had a very tender tummy, just below the bra line. Worried I've got an ulcer. Haven't got any other worrying symptoms but the discomfort is continous and unrelieved with ranitidine. Not really relieved by food either. Has anyone else had this sort of problem? I'm not nauseated or vomiting, no blood in stools, not constipated but belch alot. (Sorry!)
I've got an appt. to see gp on Tuesday but it seems a long way off and I don't consider myself an acute emergency. Help!!

Sorry, no advice really. I know this sounds like I'm dismissing your prob, but could it be wind? I only ask because I've had occasions when I've either been absolutely doubled up with searing pain, or nagging pain instead, and it's resolved itself and so I've decided it was a tummy upset or something I've eaten disagreeing with me. I think you're absolutely right to check this out. Good luck.

Thanks, Pook. No definitely not wind. It's like a gnawing pain right at the centre of my tum.
