Discovered a lump a month ago, saw my GP 10ish days ago and my referral apt is tomorrow. Had a busy weekend and now it's dawning on me what I'm doing tomorrow... now I'm dreading it :(

Oh no, wishing you the best possible outcome.

malteserzz · 21/09/2014 21:34

Good luck remember that most lumps are benign. Well done for getting it checked out

OnlyWantsOne · 21/09/2014 21:37

Onlywantsone thinking of you and hope that tomorrow goes well and that you get the answers you need.
I am waiting for an urgent appointment with the breast clinic after some abnormalities were found on a routine mammogram. So difficult not too worry.

Hope that you managed to do something nice this evening to keep your mind off tomorrow.

OnlyWantsOne · 22/09/2014 07:25

I woke up at 4 in a panic and feel sick :(

I hope all goes well for you. Many of us have been through this anxiety. Most breast lumps are benign and the minority which aren't are very treatable. Good Luck today.

Northumberlandlass · 22/09/2014 14:08

Another one hereSad was referred today, hopefully will be seen within 2 weeks. Can't stand the waiting!

paddlenorapaddle · 22/09/2014 20:18

This happened to me before the summer, can't speak highly enough of the service I was seen by the consultant, mammogrammed and ultra sound scanned all in the same day and all with about 3 hours

Wishing you all the best

elportodelgato · 22/09/2014 20:29

Only, I just wanted to add my support and I hope it has gone well today and you have good news.

However, if you have had bad news, please keep posting. I was diagnosed with breast cancer back in July and mumsnet has been my lifeline - the Tamoxigang thread is lovely and welcoming, the people on there have been through pretty much everything and have lots of advice, experience and hand holding. Thinking of you and hoping you DON'T have to join the gang Thanks

Rachie1986 · 22/09/2014 20:30

Hope everything is ok, will be thinking of you xx

charmingtime · 22/09/2014 21:27

I hope all goes well for you tomorrow. I had a lump 18 months or so ago and the care I had was fantastic. I had an examination, ultrasound and biopsy all within a couple of hours (they didn't do a mammogram as I'm under 35). Results a week later and fortunately it was a benign tumour which is apparently really common. Good luck and try not to worry (easier said than done, I know). x

charmingtime · 22/09/2014 21:57

Millie thank you for sharing, you just answered one of my questions.

I wasnt sure if they gave you the results on the day or if you had to go back again, better to know that it is the later.

MillieMoodle · 22/09/2014 22:56

The lady that did the ultrasound and biopsy said she was fairly sure it was nothing to worry about but that I'd have to go back to the breast clinic the next week for the results. I worried for a week then at my results appointment the doctor just said it was a fibroadenoma so I could either leave it there or have it removed. I had planned to get it removed but as it's harmless and doesn't cause me any trouble I haven't done yet.
The biopsy didn't hurt either so don't worry about that if you have to have one xx

OnlyWantsOne · 23/09/2014 13:01

sorry i didnt come back sooner, and THANK YOU for all your good wishes and support.

I am fine, apparently as my breast tissue is so stretched great and ive lost a lot of weight (4 stone) in a short amount of time, what I can feel is a normal glandular bit of breast tissue, made worse by pulling a chest muscle when running and basically being a hyperchondriac
