Black spot on tongue

My tongue is sore & I've noticed I have a small flat black spot on the top near the back. Has anyone had something similar? I am already waiting to see consultant for reoccurring ulcer - deemed non urgent so GP obviously doesn't feel it's sinister - don't know if the back spot could be connected &/or is cause for alarm - any advice? Appointment with consultant is on 3 Oct so minded to wait until then & hope it goes away

No idea what it is but I too have an appointment for a 'thing' on my tongue and I understand the fear. I was referred as an 'urgent' appointment because of my anxiety. The referral was made on 18th August but when no appointment came through I decided to go private and am seeing someone tomorrow evening. Good luck with yours and I am sorry I can't help. Don't Google! I did and wished I hadn't!

My appt went well. It was an enlarged lingual tonsil. I hope you gat equally satisfactory results soon.
