Help discharge and pain in breast feeling very worried

I have been having pain in one breast for a few months on and off but can't feel any lumps and as had this in past in the other breast and been told either muscle or hormonal tried to dismiss it. Last week discomfort returned and nipple really painful to touch this time. I gave my nipple a squeeze yesterday and a lot of creamy matter (very thick like squeezing a white head) came out of one pore. The relief was instant. Breast still feels a little tender but nipple feels fine now. Camping at the moment so can't visit GP for a few days but really worried it's something sinister.

Are you breastfeeding at the moment?
If you are, it sounds like a blocked duct has just unblocked... Women describe that there can be toothpaste like stuff coming from the nipple, nothing to worry about, it's just hardened milk.

If the previous pain has been on and off, it could just be that you've had other blockages that resolved themselves.

Does that sound like what happened with you?

Thanks for reply. Unfortunately I am not breast feeding and haven't for 2 years but yes it was like toothpaste effect. Could it still be a blocked duct?

I think from what I've read, women who've breastfed for a long time (more than the first few weeks) can squeeze some milk out for many months after stopping, so it sounds plausible, but I'd be inclined to nip to the doctor for a check anyway. Just for reassurance.
