Someone sort me out as head is swimming & house stinks of sick. dd nearly 4, has had cough for ages but not a big problem, has slight conjunctivitus last 2 days, not v bad, slight temperature yesterday for a while & a bit clingy & sleepy.
But much of the time, esp if distracted, is fine & happy. Was thinking she was getting better when she was very sick tonight, having eaten v little anyway, got a bit upset going to bed, went hot, coughed, & up came everything.

Think the reason I'm wanting to know what to do is that it's her birthday party on Thurs at soft play place & she is really looking forward to it & I can't bear the thought of her missing it. Would usually wait & see how she is, & had intended to, but don't know if the being sick means I should worry more.

It doesn't seem like a big deal especially when she's happy, so really not sure whether I should do anything. Sorry to go on, but any ideas??

If she isn't sick again then i wouldn't worry, it was most probably the coughing and getting upset that made her sick.
My dd has asthma and coughs until she is sick.
If she is sick again then i would say that you may need to rethink the party.

thanks, this is slipping down the page so I'm back. trouble is, we'd have to do the party without her, how depressing would that be, can't contact most of parents. She is usually well, recovers quickly, so I'm hoping....

Thanks for replying.

This may sound mad but my ds who was 4 in feb came down with a temperature the night before his bday party i though oh oh, but he was desparate to go be where up with him most of the night and he was on calpol. He spent most of the morning on the sofa lollying about determined to go to the party. dp and i where took separate cars just in case it went pear shaped. I calpoled him 1 hour befor the party and believe it or not on the way he threw up in the car, covered in sick crying i want to go to my party i want to go to my party. I pulled in a the next tescos bought him a change of clothes and continued on to the party. He slept in the car (in his sick)(looking back i cant believe i did this!!!!!!) for 45 minutes (my sister sat in the car with him) and the food part of the party started without him. He woke up and i changed him into clean clothes and he joined his party and had the best time ever!!!! The photos are fab and he still talks about it. So ..........

I would still have to say that i am really pleased that he had his party.

By 6 o,clock that evening he was back on calpol and fast asleep again. He wasnt sick though i really do think that was more to do with the over excitement of the party.

Hope all goes well for you and that your dd is just well enough to have a great time!!!!
