PCV - anyone know anything about it?

Had a letter from the surgery this morning offering my dd (2 on Oct) the PCV - so far I've seen a few ads on the tv about it, but don't really know much about it.

Can anyone give any experiences or their child having it and any side effects?

Thanks

hi, I got the same letter It's the tuberculosis shot I think. Called surgery this morning asking why ds is being called in as he's had his at birth and they say it's a booster...

found this .

Had to laugh though... 'offered at two, four and 13 months'

DS just turned 2!

Its not tuberculosis - its meningitis, scepticemia, pneumonia, & ear infection.

There are a number of threads in health - look for the ones with pneumococcal, pneumo or prevenar in the title.

Its only just been introduced to the scedule in this contry which is why you didn't get it @ 4 & 6 months.
