Going with a group to teach skills for dealing with emergencies in childbirth. Will be away 2 weeks - am pretty nervous. Haven't even packed yet!

What a worthwhile and lovely thing to do! DD went to Vietnam earlier in the year & was advised to take malarone in the evening after dinner. HTH & that you have a fab time!

oh thats wonderful. Hope you enjoy it - it sounds like its going to be a great experience. I think I would be nervous too, but I'm sure you'll be fine.

We're on malarone long term, Mears. We start taking it a day before coming out to Nigeria and for one week after we leave. We take it in the evening after dinner. It's best taken at a regular time, so you don't give the mosquitoes a window of opportunity (bit like the mini-pill) and with food or a drink of milk, as fat helps absorption.

Sounds like a fantastic trip, good luck!
