unfortunately I think that they wouldn't be able to use it casue of the contamination issue, even if you cleaned it thouroughly

not sure thoug
can't you just go now and think drink pints of water or juice?

Tatties · 21/09/2006 09:37

Empty pill bottle?

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 21/09/2006 09:40

Hmmm coke bottle maybe not a good idea then, shame cause I had two choices - diet coke or diet coke with lemon

Pill bottle, I have a paracetamol tub thing with a snap lid - what if leaks all over me though, ewwww

I had to use a plastic bottle before !!
I thorougly washed it out with boiling water beforehand, My GP said that was fine.
You might need a funnel though ! The necks quite small

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 21/09/2006 09:51

Oooooh what about a little plastic fruit pot? Its only the size of a lighter and has a lid. AM off to see if it leaks (with water! although running the taps atm isnt a great idea )

I used a well washed out coke bottle. It was fine.

daisy1999 · 21/09/2006 10:36

remeber to throw it out afterwards or there could be a nasty mistake made

daisy1999 · 21/09/2006 10:36

actually it will be better for you than what was originally in it

SoupDragon · 21/09/2006 10:37

Respect to you if you can manage to wee in a coke bottle. I'm impressed.

I took my first sample to the MW when preg with DS2 in a babyfood jar. It was fine.

ginmummy · 21/09/2006 10:38

If it's a sample to be sent to a pathology lab then they won't take it as it has to be in a proper container labelled with your details. If it's for a surgery test (pregnancy, diabetes etc) then you could chance it, or you could go to the surgery early and ask for a container to do a urine sample and use their toilet to do it. It honestly won't matter to them that you've obviously just done that.

mazzystar · 21/09/2006 10:40

better than a miniature whisky bottle.

Northerner · 21/09/2006 10:40

I've used a Flora tub before when the need arises. Now I have a stash of urine bottles just in case.

ginmummy · 21/09/2006 10:44

My mum did actually use a minature whisky bottle for a urine sample when she was pregnant with me and her bag was stolen... serves the barsteward right when he drank it!

nailpolish · 21/09/2006 10:46

Tamba, what about, when you get there, ask the nurse for something to wee in and do it in the toilets there?

ive done that a couple of times, when ive had nothing to wee into

just make sure your bladder isnt empty!

southeastastra · 21/09/2006 10:47

don't you have any tupperware?

brimfull · 21/09/2006 10:50

what will the dr make of you ..blatantly flaunting a horrid coke bottle into the surgery...how very dare you!!

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 21/09/2006 12:00

Hehe

I used the little fruit pot, luckily I put it in a bag cause it leaked a bit

She said I was very well organised lol

Slightly embarrassed myself by talking about 'AF' though - she let me go on for about a minute before she asked what an 'AF' was... then of course had to explain what it stood for and where id got the term from! Male doctor who was sitting in looked at me like I was mad though
