Need advice quickly

What is the best way to get sand out of eyes? My 2.3 year old has just thrown it in his eyes. I have no eye wash. Will water do? I have his hands so he can't rub them and I'm hoping tears will get most of it out.

Any other suggestions?

Water wash will work fine

Water will do. Tears will get rid of a fair amount of it, but water will be fine.
