Routine, unexplaned fevers....???

DD has been suffering from fevers of 39+ since December of last year. They appear every 20 - 28 days and disappear in 2. Her Drs. can't explain it - has anyone else ever had a child with this condition?

Could it be kidney infections?

How many doctors have you been to? Has she seen a consultant? I really think that she needs to if she hasn't and if she has and the first one hasn't helped go back for a second opinion from someone else.

how old is she? dd went through a spate like this when she was around 3-4 years old. We used to joke about it because we would be out, she would suddenly look all pale and she'd be burning hot!! However, it disappeared after around 6-12 months.

Have they done a urine test or a blood test? Probably worthwhile having the urine test done at least.

My ds2 used to get a similar thing which was undiagnosed at the time but I now suspect was migraine. I had no idea small children could get migraine.

They did urine tests just to rule out any infection. DD has just been referred to the local Paediatric consultant so we'll see how it goes. Had been to the Dr's three times prior to the referral and they all scratched their heads.

She is 3. I just thought it was REALLY odd. A fever cropping up just often as a period would. Perhaps it could be something she'll grow out of. I am a bit worried as she had a fall into a pond in November last year (full submersion) and had thought that perhaps she picked up some sort of infection.

I guess a blood test will be on the cards for her once she visits the P.C. This is just so odd!
