Does anyone else take sleeping tablets?

I have been on them for a cuople of weeks now & find when i wake in the morning i am still feeling really tired, are they ment to make you feel tired constantly?

Also i have found that i now can not get to sleep without them & am in need of them.

I tried to sleep the other night without them because i felt i was becoming dependant on them to get to sleep at night & i laid there for 2 hrs fighting it thinking i will go to sleep without them but did not manage to & in the end gave in & had one & was alseep within about 20 mins.

Well i was given another 28 days worth when i went back to her on the 13th & had been on them for about 12 days before that, i was fine but then relaised when i went to go to sleep with out relying on them it was just not happening, we are in a stressful situation at the moment & was not sleeping at all so thats why she gave them to me..

I can empathise with feeling tired in the morning - they make me feel quite groggy. Maybe try and wean yourself off them? Break them up and take smaller and smaller bits? or go to GP for lower dose?

Scoobydooooo · 20/09/2006 17:02

Thats a good idea i may try & break them up bit by bit, they are small anyway but sure i can butcher them

When i went to the doctors on the 13 i explained that i was waking at 4am every morning & felt the tablets were just wearing off & i was just suddenly waking up, she up the dose for me but now i feel i rely on them, i used to be able to miss a night if i was shattered & go to sleep on my own but now i can not do this, like i said i tried & it failed.

Oh bloody hell, i have been on them since 1st september nearly 3 weeks now. Blimey i did not know they would be this addictive only realised the other night when i could not sleep without one

I find it hard when not sleeping well thats why after 2 hrs i gave in because i have dd who is 8 months & ds who is 4 to look after along with looking after & running the house, so no sleep is just not good, i have never been good when sleep deprived anyway, i love my sleep.

Suppose i will have to try & wean myself off, i will start at the weekend when dp is here so that if i have a bad nights sleep at least he can help with the kids the next day.

Sorry it's not 10 it is 3.75 each tablet but she told me to take 2 so have been doing that, so maybe i should just take one & then start cutting them in half etc etc?
