Chicken pox?

I think ds1 has it, his back is covered in weepy spots and they are creeping up his neck and round his tummy. He has a sniffle and a cough, has had it about a week, although doesn't look like he feels ill as such.

I have calamine cream, anything else I should do? And what should I do about ds2 who is only 5 months old?

Oatmeal baths are soothing - stick a handful of oats into an old sock or the toe of a pair of tights and hang it underneath the tap as you run the bath (or just float it in the bath).

I don't think there's much you can do about ds2 apart from keep your fingers crossed - hopefully someone will be able to come up with some bright ideas for you.

Benadryl is better than calamine lotion. Piriton is also good. Lots of sunshine if you can get it. Dries the spots up beautifully.

Yes. I was fortunate that it was summer when mine all got the pox. Chucked them outside. Sun dried them up lickety split! Benadryl also fabulous stuff and I wish I had known about it when the 3 oldest got the pox. That and piriton. Brilliant!

ds got c.p 2 days after i just given birth to dd we gave him prition helped with spots and itiching . he was really bad had them everywhere in his hair , had one on his eyelid,all over his face and all over his back tummy and as for his bum and dinggles you couldn't see normal skin he had spots on top of spots. that was at xmas , his only scar is on 1 small pox mark on the side of his face nr his eye.buy prition and use it every few hrs really will help c. lotion just made alex scream with the pain . xx good luck xx
