My dd has just been called for her mmr jab. I am worried about her having it because you hear such bad cases in the news about it harming kids. Any thoughts on it

We had our DD1s MMR at the height of the Andrew Wakefield scare. We looked at research into MMR by Japan, Canada & 2 or 3 Scandanavian countries (trust them more than UK). The bottom line was, more children die of measles than bowel disease. And the risk of her becoming autistic because of the MMR was less likely than her dying of measles.

Since then ofcourse, the link between MMR & autism has been found 'unsafe' and Andrew Wakefield will be called to a hearing at the GMC, but it's not until early next year.

Prior to looking into the MMR, I didn't know that mumps and measles could be so devastating. I'm glad we had it done (3 in 1 jab too, if you're wondering).
