Hi to all. New to this thread, but so glad I found it. Hope all of you on tenterhooks are managing to relax a bit over the weekend.

The trouble is that if you're worried about something sinister, you kind of feel that any delay is going to have a negative impact on the outcome.

Have got a date for a gastroscopy. Have been feeling 'not quite right' for a few months now. Pain in lower back, constant heartburn and indigestion (Rennies doing v. well out of me!), lower ribs feeling bruised, stomach pain and bloating. As well as worrying about that, I'm feeling quite scared about the whole 'swallowing a tube' procedure of the gastroscopy!

Hoping for the best for everyone.

Charming it could be a bit of infection or unrelated. My biopsy site was sore for ages and bruise lasted for weeks. If your temp goes over 38 phone NHS direct or your ooh service.

MrsM you can be sedated for the gastroscopy it is very uncomfortable if you opt for the throat spray but with sedation it is very simple and painless.

thegreylady you were right the pains were the bruising coming out.

I have had my colonoscopy and been given a diagnosis of Crohn's disease.
I have 3 month treatment plan to get it under control and go back for a follow up next week for the results of the biopsies that he took.
It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be, quite uncomfortable at times when going around corners of inflamed bowel.
I am glad that it is over and just one more week to wait for both sets of biopsy results.

Just wondered if there are any updates on those waiting on this thread?
Hope everyone is doing well.
NAme changed here (was feelingfitter). OC ruled out. Still on watch and wait or whatever it's called. May need the surgery eventually as symptoms are still ongoing and I'm having to take regular pain relief. Bloods and scans are due again in the next few wks.
I still highly rate my wonderful GPs surgery Smile
