You're right, it's just in the absence if information it's hard.
I'm really glad you have a sensible gp. When do you find out anything else?
I get blood results soon and am waiting for the referral appointment.

feelingfitter · 25/08/2014 15:05

I had more bloods taken the other day as I'm still not great. They just want to check there has been no change in the bloods. I have the hospital later this wk for another examination (to check if anywhere else is involved) then again next wk when hopefully things will be clearer and a date for op can be reset.

feelingfitter · 25/08/2014 15:09

Hope you don't have to wait too long for the referral. Are you being seen under the TWR or will it depend on blood results?

Nerf · 25/08/2014 15:14

Depends on bloods. I'm really stressed though because now it's on my mind I'm feeling symptoms and examining poo(!) all the time.
Will you know before Xmas what you're dealing with?

feelingfitter · 25/08/2014 15:24

I should have had op last wk, but, was delayed for this further test so yes I hope it's all over and done with well before Christmas.

Stressing is understandable. I still get those moments. It's easier said than done when they tell you try not to worry.

feelingfitter · 13/09/2014 21:16

How is everyone getting on? Hope you are all getting answers.

charmingtime · 14/09/2014 09:01

I will come and join you in the waiting and worrying.

Very sorry to hear about all of the symptoms and waiting for you all. I really feel for those of you that are waiting for answers for your DCs.

Nerf I also have bowel troubles. Have you got an appointment through for your referral?

I have seen a consultant after bowel abnormalities showed up on an MRI scan. He has booked me in for a colonoscopy in a couple of weeks time to look at the affected area and take biopsies. I am trying not to think about it but it is lurking at the back of my mind all of the time.

Hope that you are all starting to get answers, the waiting is just awful.

Le1890 · 14/09/2014 14:08

Hi

I also have bowel troubles. I am waiting to repeat the stool inflammation test before being referred to GI. Bloods normal and abdominal ultrasound normal.

Charmingtime can I ask what your symptoms are?x

CariadsDarling · 14/09/2014 14:30

I'll join in if its ok.

I went to the Dr last week with thrush around my breasts. Whilst there she said can I do a breast exam? After she'd finished she said you have a lumpy left breast and it has to be investigated. I went to the hospital immediately to make and appt and by chance the surgeon we use as a family was in the car park. He asked what was up and I explained what had been said and he took my upstairs to his office. I had a thorough examination and he said - I can feel nothing to suggest a tumour and I can detect no other sign of any cancer but we have to have a look just because.

I have the tests tomorrow and the truth is Ive had a bit of an emotional collapse to the extent Ive been put on medication. The Dr I was referred to has said she thinks its bit of post traumatic stress after helping my sister in law through her diagnosis and treatment. It was horrific.

I just can't get my head into a positive frame of mind. I live with a lot of stress due to having a severely disabled son and though life is good, I do live on the edge constantly with regards to stress and emotions.

I couldn't even go out today, my legs just wouldnt hold me up, and Im terrified.

I know people can get lumpy breasts but just the one?

Best wishes to everyone else who is scared right now.

CariadsDarling · 14/09/2014 14:35

Oh and just to say that when I took my sister in law to the surgeon, within 2 hours of her telling me she had a lump, he did the needle thing straight away as he could feel the lump so I know if there had been something to stick a needle in he would have done it.

Before the end of the meeting he was asking about periods and said go and see the gynaecologist and ask about evening primrose, or anything else she can offer you for your menopause.

On the way out I said I have a cruise booked at the end of the month, am I going? He said of course you are.

thegreylady · 14/09/2014 15:20

I have an appointment for an unidentified 'thing' on my tongue (separate thread on here) the appointment is tomorrow evening at 7.30 and I am very very anxious . Cyber handholding is always good.

thegreylady · 14/09/2014 15:24

Cariads I have had breast cancer and believe me they never say it doesn't suggest cancer unless they are pretty sure. Some people just have lumpy breasts and breast cysts are very common too. They do need to check and I know the fear is crippling but most people who are referred with breast lumps do not have cancer.

charmingtime · 14/09/2014 17:13

cariads so sorry that you have got this after such a stressful time for you. It was really positive to hear that your family surgeon saw you straight away and was reassuring, cruise sounds lovely.

greylady not long to wait for you, did your tongue issue appear quickly or has it been a gradual one? Are you on any meds? It is often a place where a reaction to something can be noticed. Have you got something nice planned for tonight to help keep your mind off things? Will be thinking of you tomorrow and Cariads tomorrow.

Le1890 I have long term pain on my lower right hand side, bowels are very grumoy and changeable. My abdomel scan was fine as are my blood results, it was the MRI scan results alongside the pain that are causing the concern. Sorry to hear that you are also having bowel trouble and hope that your referral comes through quickly.

thegreylady · 14/09/2014 17:40

Thanks charming I am not sure, I bit my tongue quite badly about 5/6 weeks ago and the lump/swelling whatever just doesn't go away. I don't know whether I bit it because it was already swollen or if it is swollen as a sort of scar. Re meds I am on omeprazole which can cause B12 deficiency which can, in turn, cause mouth problems.
Obviously what I am worried about is cancer :(
My cousin and his wife are coming tomorrow till Thursday but I'm not sure if this is good or not. I am very scared.

charmingtime · 14/09/2014 17:51

Hugs greylady, none of us can help worrying. You will feel so much better tomorrow once you have seen your Dr xx

CariadsDarling · 15/09/2014 10:37

Thank you for the hand holding and good wishes. :)

I'm Ok.

My friend came and took me and once we were on the way I settled down a bit but my courage failed me on the table and I had a full blown panic attack. I couldn't even stand still when I stood up. I was shaking like a leaf and stll am.

In the end I only had the ultra sound as the mammogram machine had broken down just before I got there today. Still, they saw all they needed to see on the scan and I will have a routine mammogram when Im back off holiday.

Thank you for the comfort. It really was much appreciated. And here's to all of you and good health.

Regards

TheRightToShoes · 15/09/2014 10:58

Oh I'll join here. Currently sat drinking vile prep stuff ahead of a ct scan. Over last few weeks have had a colonoscopy and endoscopy. Doctors are thinking I have crohns or colitis. Hopefully this will be the last test before a diagnosis

CariadsDarling · 15/09/2014 16:40

I hope today went well for you :)

charmingtime · 15/09/2014 17:13

cariads so sorry that your appointment was stressfull for you, it sounds like you had a reassuring outcome. When do you go on your cruise?

therighttoshoes I love your user name. Hope that the CT went well the prep sounds gak.
I have also been flagged for Crohns on my MRI and I am hoping that a colonoscopy will be enough to diagnose whatever is going on in there. Hope that you got some answers today.

thegreylady hope that you also get reassurance and answers tonight.

thegreylady · 15/09/2014 18:15

Just off for my appointment...

thegreylady · 15/09/2014 20:47

Alls well it is a lingual tonsil!

charmingtime · 15/09/2014 22:12

thegreylady really pleased to hear that all is well for you.

Answers cant come soon enough here, I have had a really bad day symptom wise and feeling quite fed up and concerned.

thegreylady · 15/09/2014 23:14

Oh dear charming I hope you too can get some reassurance soon. The waiting for tests and results is the worst of all.

CariadsDarling · 16/09/2014 06:53

Im glad you're well Greylady.

Im having a rest today but truth be told I can still feel myself shaking and trembling inside. Ive known for while my emotions were very stretched and this episode has made me realise that I do need to be on medication in order to get back on an even keel.

Am off on holiday at the end of the month, a Caribbean cruise for about 2 weeks than a week in Florida, but Ive promised myself that I'll have a complete head to toe when I get back and start taking better care of myself. There are things I want for my son and other children and thats for me to live to a very very old age so I can be part of his life for as long as can be. It won't happen if I continue to neglect myself they way Ive done for a very long time. So its been a wake up call, an absolutely nightmare of a wake up call - but not before time.
