Soft spot worries..help

My 8mo dd has a very pronounced soft spot still, at varying points through the day. Some times you can hardly feel it, on others you can see it pulsating like it did when she was newborn.

I was told ages ago it's a sign of dehydration, but my GP says that's only really accurate in babies under 8 weeks. She is in good health and not fazed by it at all.

Am I worrying for nothing? Whats other mumsnetters experience of this??

BabyDragon's is the same and it does "fill out" when she has milk

She's 7.5months btw

It is normal and it won't "close" until at least 18 months. Don't worry. Perhaps she doesn't have a lot of hair, and that is why you are aware of it?

I assume your lil one oprobably has little hair, which makes it more noticable....also....most Baby's will have a very noticable soft spot when sitting or standing....ms had that...he had a huge softspot anyway , whereas ys had a quite small one compared...but that was probably not in our favour!

Thanks - she does have a bi of hair but tbh, I am now constantly feeling her head to see how dipped in it is! glad to know there's other babes with big soft spots too!
