Weird scab on scalp ...

DS2 has a strange, fairly large (maybe 1 cm x 0.5 cm) scab on his scalp. It's near the front. I'm quite sure he was never cut there. He has no nits.

I'm not sure how long the scab has been there, and it looks a bit strange - sunken? Any idea what this could be? Should I be taking him to the docs?

Depends if it is getting smaller or bigger. Is he otherwise well? Keep an eye on it, take to gp if it doesn't seem to be shrinking/healing. Is he scratching?

I've only really taken notice of it this weekend, I think I'd seen it before .

Don't think he's scratching, don't think it's bugging him.

He's otherwise ok, has a bit of a cold, but generally ok in himself. (Well, he's tantrumming a lot, but I don't think the scab is bugging him, anyway.)

How old is your ds2? Could be seborheaic (sp?) exzema. My dd2 had scabs all over her head as a baby but they never bothered her.

Just a thought. I'd pop to the docs.

He's nearly 2. His skin is otherwise good. I'll check the rest of his scalp, and try to get him to the docs this week.
