Lump on my neck and swollen nodes. Hand hold needed!

My lymph nodes on my neck have been up for a couple of months now without me having suffered any obvious infections and they feel quite hard. I've kind of been monitoring it but also a bit embarrassed to go to the doctor because I'm a bit anxious about my health and have had other investigations in the past.

Anyway yesterday I found a lump on the left side of my neck. It's quite small, very hard and a bit painful. And it's freaking me out! I'm off to see my lovely GP in an hour and I'm scared!

Any chance of a hand hold? Or alternatively you could just hand me a grip because I definitely need one of those!

Only just seen this so I am offering you a hand hold. Hopefully by now you will have been to see your GP who will sort you out and you will be feeling less scared. Hopefully it will be nothing serious.

Please come back and let us know how you got on. Its fantastic you went to see the doctor quickly and to be scared is very normal. Good luck today and I am thinking of you!!

Hi, try not to worry. I had the same and like you suffer from a bit of health anxiety and was imagining all sorts. The gp referred me for blood tests and to see a consultant at the hospital. Bloods showed I was anaemic but other than that all ok. Consultant appointment came 6 weeks later and by then I was in a btot of a state! He had no concerns whatsoever with the lumps. That was a few years ago. Hand holding here. Good luck for your appointment.

Hope the doctors appointment went well, I have had a hard lump up since Christmas & softer glands up under it, had various tests & waiting for some more - but both doctors at the hospital told me they had neck lumps & have had them 10 years & they are nothing to worry about! Although the second doc admitted getting it checked every now & then but is always fine.

Just sharing because the word lump means you will worry but hope you don't need to do so.

Thank you! My GP was very reassuring. He has referred me for blood tests, next week. He had a feel and said he would be more concerned if just one of my lymph nodes was swollen but as it's all of them it's more likely to be an infection or even mild glandular fever. The lump could be muscular. Feeling a lot better but no doubt I'll get in a state again before the blood tests!

Glad your gp is doing bloods. Hope your feeling better and not as anxious, which was very normal, try not to worry about the blood tests next week.
