Is your blind spot the same size as it was 20 years ago?

When I was at school, I did the standard experiment to prove that you have a blind spot, in the Physics class, namely, take a sheet of white paper, draw a dot on it, move the paper around until the dot disappears, then you know its in your blind spot.

Recently, I did the same test to show my children, and I realised that my blind spot is a lot bigger than it used to be. I also have trouble catching food moths(we have a plague of them at the moment), as I keep losing sight of them flying around, and I think that is the same problem.

Does anyone know anything about this, is it a sign of an eye problem? My eyesight has got a little bit worse since I was at school, but not bad enough to wear glasses.
