Contraceptive implant - no periods then started to bleed - advice please

Hi I have had the contraceptive implant 2 years. It is meant to last 3 years.

I have had no periods up until now, but recently I have had two periods and sore breasts. I have been to see the doctor who says it does not need replacing but I am concerned about effectiveness. Any advice? Thanks

On the last four months of my implant I had regular periods. I was advised the hormones dip a bit but it's as effective as day 1 until the three year point. I did use protection though, because I am mad anxious
