In my breast, dh said he could feel it to. Went to see my fave doctor today who has refered me to see the breast guy. She says its the size of a marble but thinks its a cyst but wants to rule anything out.

Bizarrely for someone as over the top as me, I am very calm, not being hysterical, feel very numb to it all.

Just wanted to vent on here as its not the kind of thing I want to talk about to RL friends.

Anyone else been through this, I would love some words of encouragement

A friend of mine regularly gets cysts and has them treated. Not pleasant but just wanted to let you know. I hope someone on here can offer you some firsthand knowledge and in the meantime, well done for being calm honey, and I'm sending you my best x.

My sister had a lump and hers was just a cyst. She too was really calm, well outwardly anyway, and quite philosophical about it. She said she had done all she could by seeing the Dr and luckily it was all ok.
Well done for getting yourself checked out and good luck to you. Take care xx

I had a rash and sore breast last january which needed investigating. It was very worrying .Luckily everything turned out to be normal but the stress of waiting was quietly simmering and my life became an unorganised chaos for those weeks. You should get seen within 2 weeks as that is the nhs guidelines for a breast lump.
I found it easier to try to forget about it in real life, saved explaining it to people and getting upset all the time.I'm sure your gp is right ,lumps are usually benign.
Good luck .

ggirl, thats exactly why I dont want to talk to poeple about it in RL, gets too hard. Tonight I have asked dh the same question 4 times, and came back from shopping and put the carriers in the fridge and the milk out for recycling organised chaos it is then

Mosschops, the same happened to me last week and it was a cyst. I too told no one about it in RL but posted about it here and a few fab mnetters reassured me. Chances are that you are ok and early detection is key with any kind of BC so you have done the right thing by addressing the lump immediately. Keep posting and keep busy

Mosschops im glad you have got this looked at quickly, been where you are now TWICE cysts both times.

I was all full of apoliges to the doctor both times feeling like i had wasted their time but he said he would rather see 50 women with cysts stright away then one with a tumoure that left it too late.

Good luck

I went to see gp today with sore area in my brest and a thickened area under it. She thinks it is a cyst also. going for ultrasound tomorrow so hopefully we will both have good news soon!

mosschops30 · 12/09/2006 21:36

i am seeing the consultant next wednesday so at least its not too long to wait, luckily dh has bupa cover with his work.
Feel a bit more nervous today, keep thinking horrible things but trying to remain positive. I am seeing Robbie on Tuesday so will try and look forward to that and keep my mind off things.

Thank you so much for all your support
